Giveaway at Parent Club!
If you're seeing this post in time, you're in luck to enter the giveaway at Parent Club for a NomieBaby stroller blanket! It's always refreshing to see what other parents appreciate in their stroller blanket. For Caroline Fernandez, publisher of Parent Club, the parts she most appreciated about the stroller blanket were:
- Loves that it's washing machine and dryer friendly for easy washing when dirty snow boots kick around in the bottom of it. That's right - no need to remove shoes to snuggle up in this blanket!
- Appreciates the color choices for boys and girls.
- Wind resistance is important to Caroline, and she values that in the NomieBaby stroller blanket!
- Loves how it's so affordable.

Perfect stroller accessories in cold weather

The term we often hear is accessorize! In fact, on Sesame Street, that was the word of the day, really! The fashionistas all tell us that the best way to update an outfit without spending a fortune is to accessorize. By simply adding a belt, necklace or scarf we can up date out an entire outfit and look, and still have money left over to go out and show it off!
Accessorizing our baby gear is also a great way to bring it up to date with the season. By adding just a few key items, we can winterize our little one's stroller! For example we can put the the sun shade away and replace it with a wind and rain shield, and a nomie baby 'cozy-up' stroller blanket can quickly turn the open air ride into a warm, cozy and wind-protected one. Finally, by adding one last stroller accessory, strittens, to the handles, we are able to treat ourselves to toasty warm hands in a snap. Stroller accessories not only make it easy, but pleasant to go from one season to the next without spending a fortune! So have fun accessorizing, AND going out!
Getting out with baby: stroller blankets are great

Very often, having a baby during the cold, snowy months can be isolating. The idea of bundling up and braving the cold can be overwhelming, but staying inside for months on end waiting for the thaw can be unbearable. There are many great products out there to make getting out and about not just possible, but pleasant.
Remember, newborns need to be kept extra cozy and warm, so a good rule of thumb is to dress them in 1 extra layer than you have on, and always keep their head covered. Our mothers were right, and now that we are mothers we can keep passing along the message, that keeping your head warm does wonders in keeping all of you warm! There are also terrific stroller blankets that add an extra layer of warmth. The nomie baby 'cozy-up' stroller blanket is perfect for making getting out possible! It has a wind resistant outer layer, and a super warm and cozy fleece lining to keep your little one snug and toasty! Now you don't have to wait for the buds to appear on the trees before you can venture out.
Enjoy getting out and about, going for a stroll and getting some exercise with your little one even when it's still freezing outside.

Nomie Baby Stroller Blankets & Mittens: Mom Gear Musts for Stroller Outings

Winter is definitely here to stay. As the temps dip into the teens and the flurries are swirling around, the thought of being inside for months on end with the little ones seems a bit daunting. The cold weather doesn't have to mean staying inside until the tulips arrive. If you have the right warm gear going outside will be a welcome adventure.
Keeping little ones warm while strolling is now easier than ever. You no longer have to worry about tucking a blanket around your child, and then hoping that there are no gaps for the wind to get in, or that it might slip off and get caught under the wheels. The nomie baby 'cozy-up' stroller blanket is the answer. It is a cozy and warm blanket that completely zips around your child so there are no gaps for the wind or snow, and it won't slip off either! The 'cozy-up' makes getting out a treat.
We have taken care of the little one's comfort, don't forget about your own. We all know that often when we are rushing to get out we have everything for the child, but not always for us. Oops, the gloves are in the other jacket, or while taking one off we drop it in the melting snow. Strittens are the answer. They are super warm stroller handle mittens that stay on the handles and are always there when you need them. You and your hands will love them.
Now that we have you and your little one covered in comfort and coziness, enjoy the winter!

Dealing with the Cold All Over
Usually, it is just around now when those phone calls from our friends in California or other warm states are really difficult to take. BUT not this year. A friend just returned from Florida, where it was in the 40's, it's cold and rainy in California, or at least to them, and I even heard from a customer in North Carolina, who is trying to figure out what to do in this arctic chill that is blanketing the entire country.
For those of us who are used to having a real winter, over the years we have collected all the necessary gear to allow us to weather the temps, but for those who are not used to nor'esters this is all new, and they are racing around trying to figure out what to do. There are just so many days one family can reasonably stay inside. Many organizations and clubs are helping by offering inside activities for the whole family. My inbox seems to be overflowing with great ideas from shows the whole family will enjoy to play time at inside gyms to Valentine's Day fun for all. Now the trick is getting there without absolutely freezing, so here are a few suggestions that make leaving the house possible and even pleasant. For you don't forget mittens or gloves and a hat. Yes, our moms were right when they said, "It really does make a difference." A long down coat like the Canada Goose brand, which is so warm that I have to take it off the second I am inside, but outside I am really toasty warm. Now for the little ones, a jacket, hat, mittens, and the 'cozy up' stroller blanket, which zips around them so you don't have to worry about lots and lots of layers! Now you are ready to brave the arctic temps no matter where you live.

Not all Car Seat Covers are the Same
When I first had the ah ha moment to come up with the nomie baby car seat cover, it came from my search, which came up empty, for a solution to the mess and hassle of cleaning up after my little one after she spilled. I found covers. I found covers that were washable. I found covers that were cozy. I found covers that were removable, but I didn't find one that was all of these AND waterproof, and affordable, in fact some were as expensive as $120! That is what the nomie baby car seat cover is. It is everything that I was looking for all in one cover, and only $36!
I was pretty sure that I wasn't alone in wanting this product, and my hunch was right! Sales have been great. Diapers.com, which has been a terrific partner since late October 2009, consistently places re-orders every 10 days - 2 weeks for their 3 large warehouses, and the comments and feedback I have gotten from customers has been terrific, not to mention fun to read! To everyone who takes the time to write, thank you. It means a lot to hear from the people behind the screens and the orders.
I realized that I not only had a product that everyone needs and appreciates, but I had the beginning of a company with a mission to bring products to parents that solve problems, and therefore, can make their lives easier. The latest nomie baby product is the 'cozy up' stroller blanket. This cozy, warm stroller blanket arrived just in time for the deep freeze that has hit the country. Again, parents have been thrilled with not only the product, the quality, but the reasonable price, which doesn't freeze out anyone's wallet.
Underlying everything, is the desire to bring great products to parents that are helpful, and priced in a friendly way, and the desire to give back. My commitment to make a change on many different levels, including in the lives of the littlest babies in the NICU is an incredibly motivating and inspiring factor. I would also like to do my part to bring some care to Haiti. I know we can all do something, no matter how great or small, and it will make a difference. Isn't that what it's all about?
